I haven't thrown the canned stuff out yet. I'm not at that stage, but hope to be soon. I imagine some canned things have their value, but understanding essentials will come over time. Also for things liked crushed tomatoes I also haven't learned the art of preserving. Living alone also means that turn over is not as high with respect to food so I have to be careful about food going bad. Really happy though about being comfortable in the kitchen. Every day is a learning experience.

Thanks for stopping by!

Good riddance! Have you gone through your kitchen cabinets and removed your canned foods yet? Over the summer I cleaned out my cupboard and donated all of my canned soups/stocks/vegetables/beans etc to charity. Almost everything that we eat at home is now homemade and it feels great. It's a great feeling knowing that you can replicate many things that you can buy at a supermarket (or order via take-out) with a minimal amount of training.
