I do use salt. It's tough to clean, but they are great to use. Glad you liked the post.

Thanks for the easy method of seasoning your pre-seasoned skillet. Question? Do you use salt to clean?

Funny -- I always check out what people are buying at the grocery store. What's even funnier is if I feel embarrassed thinking people have noticed if I've splurged on "junk food"

There are small ways to dress up your miniature cupcake a little. I also bake them and give it as gift to some of my close friends. I got the Idea from Foodista (http://foodista.com) check it out sometime and explore other possibilities.

Cheers!

I haven't checked out Le Cordon Bleu yet. I actually work right down the street so it's become one of those things where I keep saying I'll do it. I'm too busy at work now, so plans to attend school are on hold best of luck. I'd like to hear your impressions as you go through the selection process.

Thank you so much for your review of this school! I am moving from San Diego and highly considering this school. By chance, did you check out Le Cordon Bleu?

I had some confusion with the ingredients. I thought the cook on the Martha Stewart show said 1 pound butter.....then I looked at the recipe on the website, and it says 1 cup.....so that would be HALF a pound.

Anyway, I saw your shortbread, and I had the exact same thing happen before. I don't think the heat was too high. The show and recipe both said 300 degrees, so that is really not all that hot for shortbread cookies. I think what is happening is the butter is "breaking down" as it is getting too warm. The recipe says put butter out of the fridge for 15 minutes prior to creaming the butter and sugar. I know I had mine at room temperature way longer than that. I also think maybe we just beat it too long, also causing it to break down.

I'm glad you sent pictures. Mine did the same thing!

It's good to know I'm not the only one who notices these things. I'm often astonished to see just how popular so many processed foods are and who buys what!
